Years ago myself and two friends came up with an idea to start a BMW-only car show geared towards hardcore BMW enthusiasts. The car show (Bimmercruise) included a leisurely drive through a mapped out section of gorgeous southwestern Ontario. As the attendance numbers grew, more than one "cruise" had to be organized, which worked out perfectly because people were driving into Mississauga from as far away as Pennsylvania. Last year, In 2008 Bimmercruise brought 200 cars and over 1000 spectators; A great achievement from our first show in 2001, which brought 50 cars and 150 spectators. Every year as interest grows; we encounter greater challenges in finding a proper venue to host the event. A venue diverse enough to allow spectators, competitors and racers to safely enjoy their passion of European automobiles. Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP) is that perfect venue having all the attributes that our enthusiasts crave. In an effort to expand on the success of Bimmercruise, we’ve decided to open up the event to European cars such as Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, Maseratti, Lamborghini, Peugeot, Ferrari, Lotus, Audi and possibly others. From discussions with people owning such cars, it appears that there’s an interest in attending this type of event. An event we will call “Eurofest”. |
